Looking for a great wine for Valentine’s Day? Look no further than this list from one of the Stain Rx® owners, Gary Gold, who is a wine enthusiast:
- Anything with the name Ménage à Trois on the label. You might want to start off with a little controversy! Actually, all the Folie à Deux wines are very inexpensive and excellent. My steps for Ménage à Trois Red Wine: Open, pour, taste, let sit for 15 minutes and taste again. This is the best inexpensive red wine I have ever had.
2, 3, 4. Sparklers, sparklers, sparklers. Roederer Estate Brut NV ($23), Gloria Ferrer Caves Blanc de Blancs NV ($22) and Chateau Frank (Dr. Konstantin Frank) Blanc de Blancs NV ($29). You may want a sparkling wine for your Valentines Day celebration, but remember sparklers are good wines all year long - no need for a celebration! FYI: NV means non-vintage, in other words, the grapes used for this bottling did not come from a single vintage.
- Albert Seltz Riesling Reserve. If you like a little sweetness, as I do, try a Riesling with 8%-10% alcohol content. Important wine info: Sugar and yeast make alcohol (ethanol), and carbon dioxide. So, if you have low alcohol content, that means there is some unconverted sugar left in the wine. Ergo, sweet wine.
The Stain Rx® team wishes you a very Happy Valentine’s Day!
